Pre-Valentine's Day

Started the day out meeting the ex-fiancé.
Yeah, that was fun.  (sarcasm font?)
We met to finalize house business by me signing over an escrow check to him.  I had Andrew and Melissa (and Andy) there with me just in case he decided to yell at me again.  It turned out to be alright.  Garrett had written out what he wanted to say prior to our meeting and just read from a piece of paper the entire time we were in the Target parking lot.  I don't remember exactly what he had said.  He referenced something that I had said to him while we were fighting; I said something about not knowing what we want.  He said that he doesn't know what he wants but his dreams remain the same.  He mentioned that he accepted another position with Engineered Air where they will be relocating him by the year's end.  Because of this move he decided that he was going to go ahead with the knee surgery that he has been putting off, which is why he needed the money from the escrow check.  He thanked me for the memories and then walked back to his car.  The whole experience was actually uneventful, for the most part.  I walked over to him and his car, stood there while he read from his paper, signed the check, said "Good Bye" to him, and walked back to my car.

The rest of the day was spent with Melissa.  'Girl Time' that was kind of overdue.  It was good to talk.
